On the weekend the Roskill juniors competed in the 2016 ASA Junior championships. Our swimmers gained some incredible results, the first day our swimmers came away with 100% PB’s (that’s a PB in every race that was swum!)

In total there were 19 PB’s over the three day meet, as well as many placings and even a few medals to top it all off!
Any placings the swimmers gained in their age groups were great results, as the meet included swimmers from all over Auckland, New Zealand and international swimmers also.

There were 25 swims in total and the PB’s/placings in Auckland are as follows:

Jenna did a PB in the 50 breaststroke

Tukala did a PB in the 50 backstroke and the 50 breaststroke, where he placed 7th and place 5th in the 50 free with a Pb

Torres did a PB in the 50 freestyle and the 50 breaststroke, where he placed 9th

Noah did a PB in the 50 breaststroke where he came 6th, and 8th in the 200 IM where he also did a PB. Along with this, Noah also gained a PB in the 50 backstroke, as well as the 100 freestyle.

Alex came 5th in the 50 freestyle with a PB, 5th in the 100 freestyle with a PB and 8th in the 200 IM with another PB

Dan hauled in the medals this meet!
He closely missed out on a medal in the 50 back, gaining 4th place (but with a PB!)
Dan then got a bronze in the 50 freestyle, a silver in the 100 backstroke AND the 100 freestyle, as well as GOLD in the 200 backstroke, and all of these races were PB’s.

Our team was ranked 7th in Auckland! So well done to all of the Roskill swimmers. The future is looking bright for these ones.
