Some of our Roskill swimmers competed in the Waterhole level 1 on the 19th of November 2016 and came away with some great results. PB’s were gained by the following swimmers:
Matthew Oberdries
Kaiya Brown
Vienna Samuels
Max White
Jesse Tu’inukuafe

A few of these swimmers said they felt sore going in and coming out of their races, however they still managed to come away with PB’s (just imagine how fast they can go when they’re feeling strong!)

Vienna, who PB’d in her 50 back said she also improved a lot in her technique and now she’s ready to start “focusing more on the fitness side of training now,” which is the case for many of our swimmers. Hard work starts now!

Upon asking the Club Captain Samantha Martin on what really stood out for her about the meet, she replied with, “it was good to see a lot of the younger level one members there supporting each other as well as a few seniors members.” She also commented on her 100 free saying, “I really tried to put what I had practiced in training and executed it in the race, I was also only 1 second off my PB which I was happy with (also bet Matt O)” It’s a great feeling when your training pays off (and having rivalry with other club members is always added motivation to swim fast!)

Overall Roskill had a great swim meet, and swimmers will be working towards improving their times even further in the coming months.
